Sailing The Fastnet Rock event
It's been an ambition for some time to try out sailing off Ireland. This trip is a pathfinder trip to get to know the area.
We are flying to Cork on the thursday evening and going down to Baltimore about an hour and a half away, on the Friday morning. We'll pick up a 40ft boat in Baltimore and will sail to Clear Island for Friday evening .
On Saturday, weather permitting, we'll set out for the Fastnet Rock which is 6 miles offshore, arriving back in Crookhaven for lunch and then go on to Schull for Saturday night. Back to Baltimore on Sunday and a late flight back from Cork.
If it all works well we are thinking it might become the main trip for 2014.
